The Cédric Klapisch Trilogy – Friday, December 16
Denis Villeneuve isn’t the only director to shine on Prime Video this month. On the French side, it is Cédric Klapisch who is honored with the arrival of the trilogy The Spanish Inn… Three essentials for the price of one, it’s worth celebrating!
The story of Xavier Rousseau (Romain Duris) begins in The Spanish Inn and continues in Russian Dolls and Chinese Puzzle. Let’s stay in the emotion with Save or perish by Frédéric Tellier (Goliath), brilliantly carried by Pierre Niney and Anaïs Demoustier. They embody Franck and Cécile, a couple of firefighters in love that nothing could separate, not even work. But when Franck sacrifices himself to save his men during a dangerous intervention, his face is destroyed. He will have to relearn how to live, and accept being saved in turn.
Immersed in the life of a firefighter, then of a major burn victim, Save or Perish is a magnificent fable about duty, suffering and survival. Thanks to its invested performers and the delicacy of Frédéric Tellier, this drama is tinged with the sublime to become hopeful.
