In Denmark, the country’s second airport reopens after a bomb threat

Billund Airport, Denmark’s second, reopened on the evening of Saturday April 20, after a bomb threat which kept it closed most of the day. A man was also arrested, announced the Danish police.

During their search of the airport, the police removed an object “likely to contain explosives”, but chemical tests will be carried out to confirm or not their presence, she said.

The airport, located in the center of the country, near Lego headquarters and Legoland park, reopened in the evening, according to police. During its closure, many flights had to be canceled or diverted.

The police “arrested a man in his thirties” who himself informed police at the airport that the item he had left contained explosives, she added.

Police are also investigating whether there is a link between the bomb threat and the dynamiting of an ATM in Billund before dawn on Saturday.
