Will future iPhone 15 buyers have to ignore the SIM card slot?

While we have just learned more about the Apple Reality Pro, we are now discovering that Apple could launch its iPhone 15 without their usual SIM slot… including in our country.

When Apple assumes its penchant for the eSIM

Last year, Apple decided to market, in the United States only, iPhone 14 without SIM slot. Indeed, the Apple brand then declared that it considered the eSIM to be much more secure in the event of theft or loss of the device. As a reminder, in 2018, the iPhone XR and XR were the first Apple smartphones to accommodate the eSIM.

According to information from our colleagues atiGenerationwhich are shared with us here by Wccftech, Apple may well decide to repeat the trial on a larger scale for the release of its iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro. And, like the launch of the iPhone 14 in the United States, the Cupertino company should now no longer leave the choice.

iPhone 15: a French release placed under the sign of the eSIM?

You are not unaware that Apple will deploy its new range of iPhones at the end of the year. While all models should (finally) get rid of the notch, these should also symbolize the coming of another change. Yes, the French release of the iPhone 15 should be the opportunity to see the famous physical slot for the SIM card disappear. Apple would like to favor the eSIM for the reasons mentioned above.

The different regions of Europe are usually housed in the same boat, it is a safe bet that all the countries of the continent will therefore benefit from iPhone 15 models completely devoid of their SIM drawer. The success of the release of the iPhone 14 in the United States has undoubtedly greatly encouraged the American giant to accelerate the step towards a future without a SIM card.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max

  • Dynamic Island
  • Overall performance
  • Screen quality

Tim Cook usually concludes his presentation of a new iPhone by stating that it is the best ever. He’s absolutely right when he talks about the brilliant iPhone 14 Pro Max in so many ways. We appreciate the quality of its screen, the phenomenal computing power of the SoC A16 Bionic, the increased autonomy, and above all, the improvement of the photo and video parts, already powerful on the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Dynamic Island is a great way to camouflage the hideous notch that sits on iPhone screens…and even make it acceptable. In the end, this gadget is more useful than futile, and we quickly appreciate its presence.

There remain the annoying points, such as the absence of an electrical adapter, the slow charging of the battery, and of course, the price. To afford the “best iPhone ever designed”, you will have to pay at least 1,479 euros for the 128 GB version, an increase of 220 euros compared to the 13 Pro Max. The 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB versions are offered at 1,609, 1,869 and 2,129 euros respectively, i.e. increases of 230, 260 and 290 euros compared to the iPhone 13 Pro Max of the same capacity.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max is undoubtedly a great product. But its price becomes a deterrent for most potential buyers. In its 1 TB version, it crosses the 2,000 euro mark, like Samsung and its Galaxy Z Fold 4 (2,159 euros). After all, if buyers are ready to pay such sums, manufacturers would be wrong to deprive themselves of it…
