In Family on M6: “Marjorie and Jean-Pierre will become a little odious” … The confidences of Jeanne Savary and Olivier Mag on season 11

On the occasion of the broadcast of the new season 11 of “En Famille” every evening on M6, Jeanne Savary and Olivier Mag come back for us on ten years of adventure and give us some revelations about what awaits Marjorie and Jean-Pierre this summer.

AlloCiné: En Famille celebrates its 10th anniversary this summer on M6. How do you view this adventure and these ten years spent in the shoes of your characters?

Jeanne Savary : It happened very very quickly. We really have to be told that it’s been ten years because I don’t feel like we started filming the series that long ago.

Olivier Mag : I thought it had been 15 years (laughs).

Jeanne Savary: It seemed very long to you. We don’t have the same notion of time (laughs).

Olivier Mag: I arrived in season 1 but I was there as a guest in a way. And then I climbed little by little. I buried all of Marjorie’s suitors and succeeded in winning over the princess. So it seemed very long to me. I start from very low (laughs).

Do you still take so much pleasure playing Marjorie and Jean-Pierre?

Jeanne Savary: Oh yes, really. We don’t feel any weariness, it’s pretty crazy.

Olivier Mag: We can’t wait to shoot new episodes every time. We are always lacking. There we completed the filming of season 11 in May, we want to go back for a ride. We’re going to shoot 52-minute episodes at the start of the school year, we can’t wait. It’s going to be a long time not seeing each other for three or four months.

In your opinion, why is the couple Marjorie and Jean-Pierre so popular with the public?

Jeanne Savary: Because they are clumsy. People can recognize themselves in their lose (laughs).

Olivier Mag: It’s true. When you see them, you say to yourself, “Finally, it’s not bad for us. Hey Robert? Fortunately, it didn’t take me seven years to kiss you” (laughs). That’s why it works. And then they are friendly. And romantic comedies are always very popular. Marjorie and Olivier was a real romantic comedy that took eight or nine years to complete.

En Famille returned to the air later than expected this year, M6 having decided to program Comme des gosses in July before that. Does this mean that you shot fewer episodes than usual for this eleventh season?

Jeanne Savary: No, not at all. We shot the same number of episodes as usual. So there is stock. But we do not yet know when the remaining episodes will be broadcast (En Famille will give way to season 14 of Household Scenes from August 22, editor’s note).

What can you tease about season 11 that we can discover since August 1 on M6?

Olivier Mag: Marjorie and Jean-Pierre are going to get a bit obnoxious (laughs). They were very nice so far. But this year Jean-Pierre becomes president of the rugby club and Marjorie becomes chief nurse. And they’re going to have a huge melon. He will believe that he is Bill Gates and she Adriana Karembeu!

But obviously, as a result, this will not be the case at all. They remain Jean-Pierre and Marjorie. The authors have found a comedy axis that is very funny and very fun to play.

Jeanne Savary: They are a little off their pumps, it’s very funny. They think they’ve made it, but in fact they haven’t. “We are still next to Jean-Pierre” (laughs).
