"In France, in each class, 3 to 5 children were victims of sexual violence"

Every year, one in five children is a victim of sexual violence. A chilling assessment drawn up by Éditions Télémaque and the Innocence en Danger association, in a work entitled "1 of 5 Manifesto against child crime in France: let's act together".

“20% of our children are victims! Concretely this means that, in each school, each class, from 3 to 5 children have been victims, at least once, of sexual violence. " The authors of the book, Serge Garde, Karl Zéro and Homayra Sellier, the founder of the association Innocence in Danger, which has been supporting victims of violence and abuse for twenty years, are raising the alarm.

Victims of mistreatment on a daily basis, the youngest often have little escape: going to school, playing in the parks or even sleeping with friends. Unfortunately, the health context forces children to stay at home with their torturer. A confinement that has a double impact on these weakened children. "For children, the danger of contamination by the virus does exist. The confinement that allows them to be protected however, leads to increased risks of mistreatment, due to situations favoring the passage to the act at home, and an additional difficulty in spotting it " Adrien Taquet, Secretary of State for Child Protection, warned on March 18.
