In Graz court – prisoner completely freaked out when the verdict was announced

The inmates of the Graz-Jakomini prison provide the employees with a variety of tasks. Recently someone completely freaked out at the Higher Regional Court. Another prisoner simply floods his cell with water.

The days in the Jakomini prison in Graz are currently extremely busy. Here is an excerpt from the most recent events: The officers recently had to go out with flashing lights to support their colleagues at the Graz Higher Regional Court (OLG). The appeal hearing of a prisoner (43) for serious bodily harm and resistance to state power took place there. The Graz Regional Court sentenced him to twelve months of partial imprisonment in January because he massively resisted receiving a substitute prison sentence when the police picked him up . He tried to free himself from the car, rolled over an officer, then forced the door open and pushed a policewoman aside so hard that she injured her wrist. Conviction instead of the hoped-for acquittal. At his appeal hearing, he then freaked out and threw himself to the ground and shouted because he expected an acquittal – but didn’t get it. Prison guards managed to handcuff the raging man in the hall. Colleagues came with flashing lights to provide reinforcements and took him to the mental hospital. There, too, he caused turbulence, banging his head against the ground and threatening to kill himself and everyone involved. Reinforcements came again with flashing lights to calm him down. Further incidents concern the prison guard. Meanwhile, another inmate caused his cell to be flooded by simply turning the tap on and not turning it off again. But he soon lost his fun – because the officials simply turned off the water supply. A 51-year-old resisted being admitted to the institution. He threw around a number of objects such as jackets and pens and tried to strike. Shortly afterwards he too sat in his cell.
