In his hands on TF1: what is the thriller worth with Natacha Lindinger (Sam)?

TF1 is broadcasting this evening the new TV movie “Between his hands”, carried by Natacha Lindinger (“Sam”), Yannick Choirat and Eric Caravaca. A caricatural and not very subtle thriller against a backdrop of harassment and obsession that will not go down in history.

What is it about ?

Clara, a lawyer in Annecy, leads a serene but monotonous life alongside her husband Damien and their two children. One evening, she succumbs to the charm of a mysterious sculptor, Stéphane. This single hot night will have dramatic repercussions for her and her family…

Who is it with?

After leaving the Sam series in which she had held the main role since 2018 – it is Hélène de Fougerolles who will succeed her from season 7 – Natacha Lindinger finds TF1 on the occasion of the TV movie Between her hands, broadcast this Monday 5 June.

The actress plays Clara, a lawyer who, following an affair with a charming and magnetic sculptor, sees her life turn into a nightmare. Stéphane, the sculptor and stalker in question, is interpreted by Yannick Choirat, seen recently in Les Combattantes, Sentinelles and Un homme abîmé.

Eric Caravaca (Year Zero) in the role of Damien, Clara’s husband, Amelle Chahbi (Gloria), in the shoes of the heroine’s best friend, Fleur Geffrier, currently in the credits of the series Les Gouttes de Dieu on Apple TV+, or even Sophie de Fürst (Profiling) complete the distribution of this single.

It’s worth checking out ?

For some time now, fictions on the background of harassment, obsession or control have multiplied on the small screen, as a way of reflecting the nightmare that many men and women live, and of inciting the victims to speak in their realizing that they are not alone.

We think of the very successful A la folie, with Marie Gillain and Alexis Michalik, of Mise à nu with Julie de Bona, or even of the more debatable Addict or Dark Desire. With its twists bordering on the implausible and its great lack of subtlety at all levels, the TV movie Between His Hands is unfortunately above all similar to the Mexican series from Netflix (minus the torrid scenes) or the TV movies of the aftermath -midi that TF1 has made us endure for years.

Overly expedited in its first minutes, the script by Mary Milojevic (Léo Matteï) and Marion Festraëts (Chefs) struggles to make us understand how Clara, a lawyer who coincidentally deals with a large file of harassment at work, is seduced by Stéphane, who is not really charming at first sight since he is from the start presented as someone rather sleazy and pushy. And of course it’s not going to work out.

Faced with a caricatural Yannick Choirat, to whom the director Vincent Lannoo (Inside) seems to have whispered in his ear that it was necessary to play a score of a very, very bad villain, Natacha Lindinger luckily comes out of it with honors and manages to breathe into her character the trouble and fear necessary for us to become attached to this woman who gradually plunges into a nightmare that threatens to destroy her. And his family with.

If we disregard the big lack of subtlety of the scenario and the aspect already seen a hundred times of this slightly too harmless thriller, Entre ses mains has at least the advantage of knowing how to maintain its suspense and keep us spellbound with the different tactics put in place by Stéphane to exercise his power of influence and manipulation over Clara, who does everything to keep him away from her and to hide their affair from her husband.

We therefore begin to want to know despite everything the end of this story. And less demanding viewers will probably have a good time watching In His Hands. That they will however have forgotten by tomorrow, that’s for sure.
