Shock for a vacationing family from Denmark while skiing in Ischgl in Tyrol: The parents had to watch on Wednesday as their 15-year-old daughter fell twelve meters from a chair lift. The father tried desperately to prevent the crash.
The holiday family was traveling in the Silvretta ski area. At around 1:45 p.m. father, mother and daughter climbed an 8-person chairlift. However, when getting in, the 15-year-old was unable to position herself correctly. She slipped out of the seat and threatened to fall out of the elevator. The father and helper held the 15-year-old for some time. The father and another passenger held the girl. But they could no longer hold the 15-year-old between the second and third supports. She fell twelve meters and remained seriously injured on the edge of the slope. After receiving initial care from the piste rescue team, the Dane was flown to the Innsbruck clinic.
