The organizers recently announced that Nova Rock 2024 would be extended to four days. The celebrations will now take place at the Pannonia Fields in Burgenland from June 13th to 16th. Now the first acts are being presented and they are absolutely amazing.
Some people probably still remember their appearance in Vienna’s Happel Stadium in the summer of 2023. Seven years after their last appearance in Burgenland, the punk rock icons Green Day are now making their nova rock comeback. Billy Joe Armstrong and Co. not only have all their big hits on board, but also the new studio album “Saviors”, which will be released at the beginning of January. The first single “The American Dream Is Killing Me” shows once again that the trio has a lot to work on again. On their farewell tour, their Canadian colleagues in spirit, Sum 41, also stop by again. A new album is also planned there for spring 2024. The Austrian live premiere of Dogstar at Nova Rock will be quite a sensation. Behind the alternative rockers is none other than “Matrix” Hollywood icon Keanu Reeves, who recently got his two former colleagues back together to really get started again with “Somewhere Between The Power Lines And Palm Trees”. The film career is now on a break – good for us! There will also be a happy reunion in 2024 with the Italian rockers Måneskin, who have long since conquered the entire rock world. Their Austrian gigs were an important step towards this – in June they can make history again. The Canadian rock band Avril Lavigne also fits in quite well with Green Day. Maybe not every note was hit at their Stadthalle gig this spring, but it was definitely the nostalgia party of the year. Old master Alice Cooper relies on shock effects, who, even at 75, hasn’t had enough and published a more than adequate old work this summer. Once again there is horror and guillotine with a lot of theatricality. The Austro supergroup AUT OF ORDA with Christopher Seiler, Paul Pizzera and Daniel Feller provides poppier sounds. After the brilliant “Red Bull 100” show, it’s all happening at Nova Rock. Folkshilfe will enchant you with their Squeezy Pop, while Sportfreunde Stiller will tell us in Bavarian terms that we are the greatest thing for them.
