Super-bourrés, presented as part of the Biarritz Festival, is an offbeat comedy about the transition to adulthood. Expected for August 30 in theaters, the film offers us the most improbable appearance of French cinema!
Super stuffed! Here is an intriguing and curious title, echoing Greg Mottola’s cult comedy, SuperGrave, released in 2007. In these two films, we follow a duo of teenagers finishing high school and wishing to have a crazy evening of drinking.
If SuperGrave featured Evan and Seth, Super-bourrés presents Janus and Sam. The first is a young high school student who dreams of leaving his native countryside ravaged by isolation and alcoholism.
His daily life changes when he discovers an artisanal distillery hidden in his grandfather’s cellar. Her best friend, Sam, accompanies her in this perilous and fraught with pitfalls, accompanied by the donkey Paulette! Fun and quirky, this comedy also recalls the earthiness of Les Beaux Gosses, a feature film which revealed Vincent Lacoste in 2009.
Janus is portrayed by the actor Pierre Gommé, whose first leading role in the cinema. The 18-year-old actor has already appeared in Le Petit Spirou, Le Daim by Quentin Dupieux, My Cousin with Vincent Lindon or Erase History by Kervern and Delépine.
His partner in crime, Sam, is played by Nina Poletto, who makes her first screen appearance. The girl’s father, Pascal, a gruff peasant, is played by Vincent Moscato. As for Janus’ mother, she is played by Barbara Schulz. Note an appearance by the priceless Chicandier, a good-natured comic who we saw in the last Asterix at the cinema.

However, the most unlikely appearance in the film is that of Jean Lassalle, a politician and former presidential candidate. The latter takes on the costume of the hero’s grandfather, the one who will introduce him to the ancestral art of making eau-de-vie. Note that Lassalle had been at the center of the documentary Un berger et deux perchés à l’Elysée, released in theaters in January 2019.
