In photos, the birth of Emilia during a natural childbirth

When Laura, a photographer, offers her friend Amy to photograph the birth of her third child, she could not imagine having such an experience.

Amy has chosen a “natural birth” (without epidural, monitoring or oxytocin) and Laura can take the photos she wants during this crazy day.

August 3 is D-Day, Emilia’s birth.

Laura says, “At 5am Jessica, her doula, came to wake me up to tell me that Amy was in labor. We stayed at home for an hour longer in her bathroom. She was managing the contractions between sitting. on the ball and in a squat (or Malasana for Yoga adept).
Around 6 a.m., direction the maternity ward which was not even 10 minutes from the house. In the car, Amy couldn’t sit, so she made the trip backwards.

Once at the clinic, she decided to take a dip. She was calm and peaceful, she mastered the contractions like a queen! She impressed me with her gentleness. His moans were deep, bestial and at the same time imbued with great self control. When she started to want to move more because she felt that it was close, she got out of the bath and started standing up by hanging more or less on her husband Christian, I mean more or less!

As soon as she wanted to push, she instinctively got on all fours. She was there in 3-4 pushes. Amy caught with the help of her midwife Emilia when she was released. She took her in her arms and it was magical !

At that moment, I was crying behind my lens, making one of my dreams come true and I was so happy to share this with Amy and Christian. “
