In preparation for the LEC playoffs, Misfits Gaming have decided to recruit MagiFelix

This week, the European League of Legends community will attend the last week of the LEC Spring Split regular season in this 2022 season. Among the teams present in the LEC, 4 of them have already validated their place for the Spring Split playoffs: Rogue, Fnatic, Misfits Gaming and G2 Esports. Despite the planned break between the end of the regular season and the playoffs, dedicated to the preparation of the teams, some of them have already started preparing for the deadline.

On the side of Misfits in particular, some changes are already in the works. The team hopes to recruit a substitute midlaner to participate in the tournament and according to some rumors, she would have set her sights on Carl Felix “MagiFelix” Boström, former Astralis. It would happen within the structure as a stand-in for Vetheoshowing Misfits’ urge to stop relying on his academy team players for replacements.

MagiFelix played the previous season at Astralis. He had been recruited after Erlend “nukeduck” Vatevik Holm has decided to take a break from the competitive scene. He therefore became a permanent holder of the Astralis roster and was considered a very promising player, who could even establish himself among the best mdilaners on the scene. Unfortunately, not everything went as planned. Astralis failed to hook than a 9th place in the Spring Split then finishes in 7th/8th place at the end of the regular season of the Summer Split. A few days later, it was the coach of Astralis, Bjorn-Vegar Hansen, who confided that MagiFelix may not have been the best strategic fit for Astralis despite his important role throughout the season, the team having subsequently pushed him out.

As the 2022 season approaches, despite his presence as a free agent on the transfer market, he had not found a team accepting him as a starterwhether in LEC or ERL on League of Legends. Now he joins Misfits Gaming as a substituteso it’s not even sure that we’ll see him start in the LEC playoffs, the French Vetheo remaining the official midlaner of the team, he who had a fantastic season.
