The story touched the whole of France. Four years after the start of the Daval case, Jonathann Daval’s lawyer published a book with investigative journalist Frédéric Gilbert. In this book, he discusses the romantic relationship between the spouses and returns in particular to the drama which took place in October 2017. On this occasion, Randall Schwerdorffer confided in his relationship with his client and discussed his state of health . Indeed, remaining three years in isolation, Jonathann Daval would have lost a lot of weight. Worried, his lawyer then thought he was ill. “There have been a lot of analyzes. No one medically understood what was going on“, he confided at Gala.fr. According to Randall Schwerdorffer, his client suffered from a psychological problem. “In fact, he was somatizing. That is to say, he never had any pathology. But at one point, no matter how much he was eating, the weight loss was dizzying as if he was suffering from cancer.“
Jonathann Daval’s state of mental health was also closely monitored, especially at night: “it is a prison guard who comes to see me and who says to me: “You have to do something, we wake him up every half hour every night by order of the Ministry of Justice because we are afraid of ‘a suicide“” Randall Schwerdorffer told Gala again. A situation that his lawyers put an end to.
Jonathann Daval used a false identity
In this interview, Jonathann Daval’s lawyer also revealed that the latter was registered in prison under a forgery: Kevin. The goal ? Ensure his safety. A false identity which will not have lasted long since Me Ornella Spatafora, the partner of Randall Schwerdorffer exclaimed “Okay, hi Jonathann!“, leaving the parlor. The use of the false name therefore did not last.
