In tears, Britney Spears again begs California justice to lift its “abusive” supervision

Very moved, the queen of pop Britney Spears again implored, Wednesday, July 14, a court in Los Angeles (California) to lift the tutelage to which she is subject, qualifying the measure which deprives her of a large part of his autonomy “Abusive”.

Mathew Rosengart, known for having defended other Hollywood stars in the past, such as Sean Penn or Steven Spielberg, will now represent the artist. He told Agence France-Presse (AFP) that he planned to file ” as soon as possible “ a request that the singer’s father, Jamie Spears, no longer have control over his daughter’s property.

The 39-year-old singer was placed under this regime in 2008, after a well-publicized descent into hell at the time. The conditions are very strict and stipulate that the decisions concerning her are taken in particular by her father Jamie Spears, with whom she has had a difficult relationship for a long time.

A plea that echoed his explosive testimony delivered at the end of June, where Britney Spears had said ” traumatized “ and “Depressed”. For about twenty minutes, speaking uninterruptedly with an extremely fast flow, she had assured to have had to take drugs to control her behavior, not to have been authorized to make decisions concerning her friendships or her finances, and not to have been able to having an IUD removed when she wanted to have more children. “I just want to get my life back, it’s been thirteen years and that’s enough”, she begged.

Since the singer’s testimony in June, many people at the heart of this complex and controversial system have distanced themselves. Samuel Ingham, the lawyer assigned to Britney Spears by a court a few months after the star with the shaved head attacked a paparazzi in 2007, has asked to be removed from his post. The financial management company that was to take joint control of Britney Spears’ fortune with her father Jamie, did the same. These two requests were validated Wednesday by the judge in charge of the case. Larry Rudolph, the artist’s manager, has also left the ship.

Will Britney Spears ever regain control of her personal and professional life? It is too early to tell. In the meantime, it is the star who must pay all the legal costs, including the fees of the lawyers who oppose her in this case.
