A horror and psychological thriller made in the late 90s, this feature film blew a generation of viewers away with its unexpected ending, considered by many to be one of cinema’s most surprising. Warning, spoilers!

Made in the very late 90s, worn by Bruce Willis and the young Haley Joel Osment, Sixth Sense is considered the most famous film by its director, the confusing M. Night Shyamalan.
After two first feature films that went completely unnoticed, the Indian-American filmmaker has indeed experienced a real triumph around the world with this memorable horror thriller, in which a child psychologist tries to help a young boy who claims to see dead.
Helped by the inventive staging of Shyamalan and the combined talent of its main performers, Sixth Sense first and foremost marked the spirits for its last minutes, and for its breathtaking final twist. Now so famous that it is an integral part of popular culture, this end took the breath away of thousands of spectators in 1999.

At the end of the feature film, we can see Dr. Malcolm Crowe (Bruce Willis) returning home after having accomplished his mission with the young Cole. Thanks to his therapist, the boy has indeed learned to control his fear, and to help the ghosts he encounters instead of running away from them.
As the boy advised him, Malcolm attempts to reestablish the relationship with his strangely distant wife by talking to her while she sleeps. To his great surprise, he then sees a small object fall from his wife’s hand: his own wedding ring, which he no longer wears on his finger.
At the same time as the character, the viewer then understands the implacable truth: since the introduction of the film, where he was shot by a former patient, Malcolm is dead!
A revelation that explains why he always finds his wife asleep in front of old wedding videos, why she no longer speaks to him, and above all why the only person with whom we can see him chatting throughout the film is the young Cole ( able to speak with the dead).

After reminding his wife that he loves her, Malcolm is now at peace, and his spirit can therefore leave for the afterlife.
A precise and meticulous conclusion, whose emotion is favored by the relationship that the spectators were able to weave with the character throughout the film, and that many had absolutely not seen coming.
