white march. The lack of public health resources remains an inevitable sea serpent in the public debate. Two years after the extraordinary congress of the SNICS-FSU union which called for an emergency plan to “reassure a profession already too tried”, several nurses from National Education and Higher Education are organizing a march this Tuesday, May 23 to ” save health at school”. According to the unions, these civil servants carry out nearly 18 million consultations per year. To avoid aggravating the situation, the nurses are calling for a “salary increase (of the order of 500 euros) and “the creation of more than 15,000 nursing jobs”.

Climate. Christophe Béchu had announced this Sunday, May 21, the government will relaunch a public consultation on the climate from May 23. The subject of these exchanges with citizens will focus on the disaster scenario (but nevertheless very real) of a 4°C increase in the average temperature by 2100. This eventuality is far removed from the hypothesis of +1.5° C mentioned during the COP21 in 2015. Heat waves lasting more than two months, water shortages or even extreme rainfall will be discussed during these discussions. This is the second public consultation on the climate after the one scheduled between November 2021 and February 2022. It should continue this year until the end of the summer.

Trial. Former candidate for the 2019 Senegalese presidential election, the representative of the African Patriots of Senegal for Work, Ethics and Fraternity (PASTEF, from the left), Ousmane Sonko, is appearing on charges of rape. A young masseuse filed a complaint against him in February 2021 for “repeated rapes” and “death threats”. The opponent, who had his parliamentary immunity withdrawn, has already declared that he does not “trust justice”. Ousmane Sonko would like to run for the presidential election of 2024.
