The pandemic is not over. To prevent the spread of the coronavirus, the LPL has announced the resumption of online meetings from this Tuesday, March 15.
While France has just lifted the obligation to wear masks in public places, China remains very cautious with its recommendations related to the pandemic. The organizers of the LPL, the Chinese League of Legends championship, announced that the meetings will resume online from March 15. Unsurprisingly, the reason given is to avoid spread of Covid-19 and to “protect the health and safety” of players, staff and league officials.
The Spring Split therefore goes online for the end of the regular season. Only derogations, LGD and Team WE will be able to continue to play in their respective venues in Hangzhou and Xi’an, but will not be able to host other teams. All other structures will therefore be assigned to their homes.
The 9th and final day is currently being played, with fixtures starting today and scheduled until the end of next week. The playoffs will then begin, and the LPL will no doubt take care of communicating new measures in order, possibly, to resume face-to-face competition.
