A thrill-seeking child had an unexpected encounter while ziplining at Go.Adventure Arenal Park in La Fortuna, Costa Rica.
As he began to pick up speed, encouraged by a guide who filmed him, he couldn’t avoid a sloth zipping along the zip line. “I hit him in the face,” the child said in a video that has garnered hundreds of thousands of views on social media like Facebook, Reddit and Instagram.
On the video, the impact seems quite impressive, but more fear than harm. The wild animal quietly continued its ride on the wire of the zip line. Surprised, the child quickly showed a big smile on his face, proof that the two actors in this collision were not injured.
“The kid did a great job using the brake, and also because the tour guide was with him, he was able to handle the situation,” park owner Flavio Leiton Ramos told Storyful.
