While she was having an asthma attack, her attacker took advantage of her vulnerability to abuse her. It was around 7 p.m. that the young woman, in her twenties, was walking near Basso-Cambo with her boyfriend, when an argument broke out between them. Leaving on his side, he left her alone on the spot. When she could not find him, the young woman was seized with a panic attack. Prone to asthma, and not having at that time her aerosol, she then found herself on the ground and asked for help from a man who was passing there. But, instead of helping her, he took advantage of her vulnerability to sexually assault her, reports The Dispatch.
The young woman then reported to the police that the man had kept her on the ground by pressing on her chest, before stroking her at the level of the crotch, not on her pants. Violently, he then took out a knife and threatened her, forcing her to unbutton her pants before passing his hand over her underwear. It was then that she saw her boyfriend, backtracking after their argument. He immediately realized the aggression of which his girlfriend was the victim and approached, causing the attacker to flee.
24-year-old man arrested
To the authorities, contacted after the attack, the young woman and her boyfriend were able to give a precise description of the attacker, so much so that, around 10 p.m., a team from the intervention company spotted a man who could match the description. The 24-year-old was arrested and taken into custody for “sexual assault at gunpoint”. The victim, who filed a complaint, formally identified him as the perpetrator, just like his companion.
