The Alain Delon affair continues to generate a lot of ink. Since the start of the year, Anouchka, Anthony and Alain-Fabien Delon have been waging a fratricidal war through the media. A difficult situation for the 88-year-old actor who has just been placed under guardianship status reinforced by the courts. But, a tribute will be paid to him soon. A distinction that could well bring some comfort to his heart during this difficult period. This Thursday, April 18, the Ukrainian ambassador to France, Vadym Omelchenko announced on the set of the political show Facing the Territoriesbroadcast on TV5 Monde, his wish to award the order of merit to Alain Delon in order to thank him for his support for a country attacked by Russia.
“Since the first day of the war, Delon has spoken a lot in support from Ukrainehe explained. For us, it’s a symbol, it’s important”. The Ukrainian ambassador then spoke directly to the actor. “Mr. Delon, at Alain’s, I know that you are in a not very simple situation, and I want to tell you that you are not alonehe stressed. You have many admirers and people who love you. Me and my people, we are always at your side”. A touching speech.

Alain Delon in Ukraine: why he is going to meet Volodymyr Zelensky
Since the start of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, Alain Delon quickly took a position. The actor even met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The two men spoke as part of a special program produced by Cyril Viguier, a friend of Alain Delon. A program which was then broadcast on Canal+ and TV5 Monde, as well as in 200 countries. In the sequences he shot, the icon of French cinema read some texts by the famous Ukrainian poet Taras Chevchenko. “What we did to Ukraine deeply saddened me, that’s what I’m fighting for them”, he assured in an extract, before exclaiming: “Long live Ukraine!”
