In the Strasbourg emergency room, “on the day of death, there was 160% congestion”

While a patient died on March 17, for lack of being taken care of in time once at the hospital, hundreds of staff gathered on the forecourt of the establishment, like every Friday since December 10, for a minute of silence against “the announced death of the public hospital”.

“We’ve been coming together since December to say it was going to happen and it happened.” Mobilized in a group of doctors who warn of the deterioration of the Strasbourg hospital, cardiologist Floriane Zeyons returns to her office on the death of a patient in the emergency room on March 17. According to emergency physician Sébastien Harscoat, the man, suffering from a digestive haemorrhage, spent more than twelve hours in an area not conducive to care and had only just been treated for a transfusion. A shorter waiting period could have avoided the cardiac arrest which was fatal to him.

A few days after these revelations by Rue89 Strasbourg, the family, who does not want to come forward, filed a complaint. Contacted by Release, the prosecution indicates that it has immediately opened an investigation. We do not know for the moment the qualification retained.

This death occurs in the context of an unprecedented mobilization, launched by “a bunch of friends” of six doctors, including Floriane Zeyons. Gatherings have spread to other establishments in Alsace and France.
