“In the streets of kyiv, I start to meet people with prosthetic arms and legs. The invasion already has its veterans”

Olga: The debate for Russian participation [Olga et Sasha ont choisi de ne pas mettre de majuscule à « russe » et « russie »] at the Olympics continues. Some say that eliminating russia would violate the rights of athletes… I want to explain to them how, in Ukraine, the Russians are violating the rights of a sovereign country and also violating in the literal sense of the term. I imagine a beautiful summer day in 2024 on the banks of the Seine, the athletes are in full effort and, there, two Russian sportsmen arrive and wear a T-shirt “We have the right to kill and to participate”. On his Twitter accountour Foreign Minister recalls that, during the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, the Russian Olympic Committee [la Russie n’ayant pas été autorisée à participer en tant que délégation officielle en raison d’accusations de dopage] left with 71 medals, 45 of which were won by athletes from the Russian army sports club. To be honest, since 2014 this topic has been bugging me. I, as a Ukrainian citizen, am quite ready to be a citizen of the European Union. And there are millions of us! But a few hundred rotten MPs have done nothing since our 2014 revolution to launch the necessary reforms against corruption and align themselves with neighboring European countries. They lined their pockets with state money. Luckily we have Zelensky. Even if, and it pains me to see it, war also offers opportunities for bastards.
