Six-figure average – If some organizations decide for various reasons to suspend the acceptance of cryptocurrency donations, others believe that the latter are an opportunity to receive more funding for carrying out their missions. This is the case of this foundation in the United Arab Emirates. Indeed, the latter decides to embrace cryptocurrencies. The goal? Make donations for the benefit of the organization, its donors, and the causes it supports.

Cryptocurrencies to transform lives
The Al Jalila Foundation announced, in a press release at the beginning of June, that it obtained authorization to receive donations in cryptocurrencies.
The Foundation is a charitable organization in the United Arab Emirates, which is interested in medical innovation to “transform lives”. It also works in the fields of “education and research”. The Al Jalila Foundation is today the first one in its field to open up to cryptocurrencies. Its CEO, Dr Abdulkareem Sultan Al Olama, said the organization seeks:
“always finding innovative ways to expand our giving channels to make it easier for donors around the world”.
This plunge into cryptocurrencies would therefore be “a winning solution” for everyone. The Foundation needs donations to finance its programs. Donors can support even more easily organization via this new means of payment.
The press release also highlights the fact that cryptocurrencies constitute:
“the fastest growing method of giving for millennial and Gen Z donors.”
It also includes The Giving Block data. Based on this data, total cryptocurrency donations in 2021 would have checked in an increase of more than fifteen times compared to that of 2020.
The average amount of cryptocurrency donations during the period also exceeded that of cash donations: $10,455 versus just $128.
