The system for verifying the history of violence, deployed on Tinder earlier this year, will now be employed on the other two dating services owned by Match Group.
Match Group, parent company of Tinder, intends to extend its latest security measures to its two other dating platforms: Match (formerly Match.com) and Stir. In this case, the group plans to deploy the violence background check system there. A device that made its debut on Tinder in early March.

To carry out this verification, Match Group uses a third-party service: Garbo. A fairly extensive user interaction is also required, which can affect the effectiveness of the device.
In the case of Match, if you tell someone about a date, a bubble will appear asking if you want to check their background. A link will then allow you to consult some additional information relating to security, then will take you to the Garbo platform.
You will then be asked to fill in a lot of information about your future date… some of which may be difficult to obtain. For the verification to be launched, the surname, first name, telephone number, date of birth or even the place of residence of the target person are indeed requested. Data that is very difficult to know before a first meeting and without arousing suspicion.
A verification that is still binding… and not entirely free
Note also that this verification system is not entirely free. As specified The Verge, regular users of the service can perform two background checks for free, but they will have to pay Garbo for the following ones. Premium subscribers, on the other hand, are entitled to four consecutive free checks.
Morality, if you plan to meet a person through one of these platforms, the good old methods are still the best: do not hesitate to tell a loved one that you are planning to meet a new person, and tell them the approximate time you expect to return home.
