A Pôle Emploi adviser was shot and killed by an armed man in Valence, in the Drôme, this Thursday, January 28 in the morning, and another woman, company HRD, was fatally injured by the same man in Ardèche, said a police source, confirming information from the Dauphiné Liberated.
According to BFMTV, it was around 9 a.m. that the man entered a Pôle Emploi agency in Valence on his own, before shooting a counselor, who then succumbed to her injuries. Then, around 9.15 am, he drove 5 km away, precisely to Guilherand-Granges, in the Ardèche, to the premises of a company specializing in waste collection, of which he is a former employee. It was there that he seriously wounded a 51-year-old woman, HRD of the company, who also succumbed to his injuries.
It was around 9:30 am, when he was fleeing by car, crossing a bridge in the direction of Valence, that the gunman collided with a police car trying to intercept it. He was then arrested.
Who is the alleged perpetrator of this double murder?
A priori originally from Nancy, the 46-year-old would have been made redundant from the waste collection company in 2010 and has never worked again since. According to France Info, he would be the holder of a sports shooting license and registered in a club. He would also be known by the police for "psychological weaknesses" and would have made incoherent comments at the start of his custody.
Asked by France Info, the mayor of Valence believes that the Pôle Emploi advisor was killed "free".
The terrorist trail has been ruled out and the hypothesis of revenge seems privileged for the moment, still according to France Info.
