In Vienna’s underground car park – 13-year-old ran over his own mother while parking

Fatal confusion with dramatic consequences: A 45-year-old apparently had her son parked in an underground car park in Vienna on Thursday afternoon. The only 13-year-old mixed up the gas and brake pedals, first hit his mother with the vehicle and then rammed a parked car.

Around 5 p.m., the rescue operation took place in the Liesing district. According to the Viennese professional rescue service, the helpers found the 45-year-old lying on the ground. The woman was in severe pain, with bruises all over her body. The reason for her injuries: She had been hit by her own car, which had apparently been driven by her 13-year-old son. Pedals mixed up “When parking, the young person may have mixed up the gas pedal with the brake pedal and hit his own mother in the process. Then the car crashed into a parked vehicle,” said the professional rescue service via broadcast. The 13-year-old suffered bruises and a head injury in the accident. Mother and son were taken to the hospital after first aid. The 45-year-old had to be hospitalized and her son was taken to the trauma room. The police had filed a complaint for negligent bodily harm, it said.
