Knit sweaters are a must-have in every fall and winter wardrobe, but what about other sweater trends? What’s hot and which models can we say goodbye to with confidence? Here comes a small trend forecast.

Cozy, warm, soft and really cozy – in autumn and winter we can’t do without sweaters. Last year, the striped Breton sweater in particular made our hearts beat faster, but what about autumn 2022? Which models are more in demand than ever?

In vs. Out: These sweater models are hip now

Fisherman instead of Breton sweater

We’re not quite ready to say goodbye to the beautiful Breton sweaters – and that’s not even necessary. However, the white and blue knitwear favorites are getting a stylish update. With the latest sweater trend, we now wear fisherman-style sweaters instead of V-necks or boat collars. That means models with a turtleneck that can be opened and closed with a short zipper or buttons on the collar. It doesn’t really matter whether it’s stripes or plain colors, the sweater, also known as a troyer, can be worn in all variations in autumn.

Ciao muted tones and hello pop art and bright colors

The autumn weather is already dreary enough, we don’t have to transfer that to our clothes. Cultivated according to the motto: pink is not a color, it is a way of life, the bright color trend also runs through autumn and winter. We have two years of hardship behind us and months of uncertainty ahead of us, so a mood lifter is urgently needed. Of course, clothing is not a miracle pill, but colors can have a positive influence on our feelings. Great side effect: Many colors like pink and red flatter our complexion. So we recommend leaving the brown and beige tones in the closet for a change and boldly opting for sweaters with pop art prints.

Thin sweaters only please

As long as the temperatures keep up, you can still experiment with your autumn wardrobe. Cropped pullover models were very popular in the past winter season, but this autumn models with small cut-outs on the shoulders are more popular. The principle is the same: the stylish trend sweaters don’t have to warm you up, but they should be an eye-catcher with mini skirts, culottes, low-waist jeans and the like.

This trend proves that cut-outs aren't just for summer.

Colorful, colorful, rainbow sweater

It’s not the first time that we introduce you to the rainbow sweater trend. With the colorful all-rounders, it is not necessarily important this autumn to show the whole palette of the rainbow, rather everyone should decide for themselves which color stripes they want to wear on their sweaters. They differed from previous models and offer more variety.

Block stripes have done it to us. Whether in a rainbow design, tricolor or just two colors - the main thing is colourful.
