Friday June 17, 2022, the management of BFMTV and RMC announced that Jean-Jacques Bourdin will no longer collaborate with the Altice group. According to Le Parisien, his inappropriate behavior and reflections made it impossible for him to return to the air.
Tuesday January 11, 2022, Fanny Agostini, former BFMTV journalist, filed a complaint against Jean Jacques Bourdin for attempted sexual assault. Then, the journalist had been removed from the antenna of BFMTV and RMC. On Friday, June 17, 2021, in a press release, it was announced: “Due to the events that occurred and were brought to the attention of the Management during the year 2022, the Management decided to put an end to the employment contract of Mr. Jean-Jacques Bourdin and thus cease all cooperation.“According to information from the Parisian, following the internal investigation launched after the complaint, there would have been no testimony that could give rise to criminal proceedings. However, it was stated that “elements highlighted inappropriate behavior and thoughts, which made it impossible for him to return to the air.“
As reported by the Parisian, the dismissal of Jean-Jacques Bourdin did not come as a surprise. “The predominant feeling is indifference. We even say to ourselves Finally…“, said a journalist. Another said: “Everyone expected this decision. It was just a matter of finding a way to get him out. Especially since it is common knowledge that he was preparing to do his last season on the group’s channels, business or not.“On condition of anonymity, a competitor added:”Bringing him back wouldn’t have made any sense. He could never have returned to the air. Even if the guests came, he would have been brought back to this complaint too often, it would not have been tenable either for him or for the chain. And honestly, can you imagine him talking about the rape charges against Damien Abad or Gérald Darmanin? He would have had everyone on his back!“

Friday, June 17, 2022, on Twitter, Jean-Jacques Bourdin was delighted to no longer work for the channels that made him a star. “21 years of success on RMC, BFMTV, RMC Découverte. We part, I’m so happy to be released, I’m leaving for new adventures and I’ll never forget those who accompanied me… Long live free and independent journalism!!“, he wrote. For his part, his wife, Anne Nivat, shared on Twitter: “What happiness!!! Finally !!!In a second tweet, she added: “In this beautiful month of June, finally some good news! When the truth has been restored, when we are freed and when we are going to continue what we love with those who are worth it, without weighing down the others, it is only happiness.“
