increased immersion on PS5, details and trailer

A new Hogwarts Legacy trailer focuses on the PlayStation 5 version. Adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, 3D audio or super fast loading, here is the latest information.

Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy resumes its communication after the long presentation last March. This time, the game in the Harry Potter universe praises the merits of the PS5 version on video.

A next-gen experience on PS5 for Hogwarts Legacy

In addition to the 4K graphics which will be common to all platforms, the PS5 version of Hogwarts Legacy will differ from its counterparts by its DualSense controller.

The Avalanche Software teams will use LED lighting, all around the touchpad, to display colors according to the spells cast or received, but also according to the house to which the player belongs. As a reminder, there are four: Ravenclaw (blue and bronze), Slytherin (green and silver), Hufflepuff (yellow and black) and Gryffindor (scarlet and gold). This is the most basic usage.

The immersion will however go up a notch when performing different actions. Each spell cast, outing on the back of a hippogriff or ride in wagons will have precise and above all localized vibrations, being for example concentrated on the right handle.

The different spells will give you unique sensations thanks to the haptic feedback, which is a direct link between the DualSense controller and your wand. These effects will only affect the right side of the controller. The DualSense will thus become a true extension of your wand in the game. When you parry a spell with Protego, you will feel the crackle of magic absorbed by the Shield charm.

Graphics Modes and Loadouts

In terms of next-gen additions, Hogwarts Legacy will have super-fast loading times and 3D audio support on PS5.

The PS5’s Tempest 3D audio technology will make you feel like you’re right in the heart of the wizarding world. With the crackling of flames as you cast Incendio, the bubbling of potions in cauldrons, and the unique soundscapes of the various environments, you’ll truly feel like you’re there. And if you’re playing without a headset, you’ll enjoy additional immersive sounds thanks to the DualSense controller’s speaker. In particular, you will hear the beating of the wings of a hippogriff, or the different effects of the spells that you will cast.

Finally, and this will be valid at least for the Xbox Series X, there will be two graphics modes “Fidelity” and “Performance”.
