Increasing TTK on Warzone would hurt some players

A Warzone developer has admitted that the increased TTK would be a bad thing for low-skilled or “dumb” players.

TTK (time to kill a player) and health have always been points of contention in Warzone over the years. Many fans feel the health is good enough, others too high, while most top Battle Royale players are in favor of a health boost.

When a TTK is fast, then it is usually awarded to less skilled players. This therefore causes a lowering of the level of skills that it is necessary to have to dominate its opponents, and it therefore puts everyone on the same “equal footing”.

While this situation isn’t quite as extreme, and the best Warzone players rarely find themselves struggling against weaker opponents, a developer from Raven Software has confirmed that this is indeed the case.

Many Warzone players have been asking for a TTK increase for a long time.

During a Q&A with streamer and former professional Call of Duty player Tyler ‘TeeP’ Polchow, Chief Creative Officer Josh Bridge spoke about TTK issues.

The problem we always had was that the more you increase the TTK, the more you increase the level of skill to have.” he explains.

Worst players can’t take out better players because there’s too much health to take away, and that’s where fast TTK gives hope that a low-skilled player can take out a stronger player than him.

These words confirm that the low TTK that is used in Warzone is mainly aimed at the less skilled players so that they can compete with the best.

Josh Bridge went on to say that the Trial of Iron mode helped “inform” them of the best options to come in regular BR.

We feel that this 50 life boost is the sweet spot for Warzone, even if it deviates from multiplayer games.

So while the fast TTK might never change, we can sense that this topic has sparked a lot of discussion among the devs about whether or not health should be increased.
