At the age of 100 she dared to do it for the first time, well, for the second time just two months before her 105th birthday: The American Dorothy Hoffner flew around in tandem with parachute instructor Derek Baxter in Ottawa, Illinois on October 1st seven minutes through the air. Afterwards she shares a recommendation with the world.

Skydiving: a thing in old age?

These are probably isolated cases, but perhaps we all become so daring as we get older. Dorothy Hoffner is not the only one who throws herself out of a plane in her old age – the previous record for the oldest skydiver was held by the Swede Linnéa Ingegärd Larsson at 103 years old. And the South African Georgina Harwood also dared to jump from the air on her 100th birthday in 2015. Unbelievable, these women!

Take advantage of opportunities like this

During her first skydive, Dorothy Hoffner had to be “pushed” out of the plane – so she seemed to have some respect. The second time it looked different: the American jumped from around 4,100 meters above sea level himself and embarked on a seven-hearted journey through the air. Once down there, she tells NBC Chicago how wonderful it is to see the world from above. Anyone who gets an opportunity like this should definitely take advantage of it.

By the way, Dorothy Hoffner also announced her next plan after the jump: she wants to fly in a hot air balloon – for the first time in her life.
