Director James Mangold denies rumors of a new ending
But no reshoot for Harrison Ford?

Did “Indiana Jones and the Call of Destiny” have to be reshot? Director James Mangold denies the rumours.
James Mangold (59) denies the rumors that he had to reshoot scenes for “Indiana Jones 5”. “We don’t shoot and have never shot new scenes or ‘different endings,'” explains the director (“Le Mans 66”) on Twitter. After taking a “break from trolls” around his birthday on December 16, he now feels compelled to take a stand again.
The film is “99 percent complete”. According to Mangold, only the special effects have to be completed. So far, only a third of the visual effects are in the box. In addition, “Indiana Jones 5” still has to receive an age rating from the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA).
Rumors have been circulating for weeks that test screenings of Indiana Jones and the Call of Fate have turned out to be disastrous. The makers are said to have shown different endings. Including a final scene in which Phoebe Waller-Bridge (37) takes over the baton from Indy aka Harrison Ford (80). In another sequence, Indiana Jones is said to have died. The negative reaction of the test audience is said to have persuaded the producers at Walt Disney Pictures to shoot a new finale.
Quoting John Williams as a reason for misunderstanding?
Incidentally, the post-shooting rumors were sparked by a quote from John Williams (90). The great film composer performed excerpts of his score for “Indiana Jones 5” at a concert in Italy. He said that although the film was almost finished, the ending might need some reshooting. Many Indy fans grabbed this quote online without the word “maybe” and used it as evidence for the unsuccessful test versions.
By the way, James Mangold called the quote from John Williams when asked by a Twitter user “Misunderstanding”.
