Despite his 78 years of age, Harrison Ford is becoming an action adventurer again. He is slated to return as Indiana Jones in June 2022.
Even in old age Harrison Ford (78) never tires of playing one of the most famous adventurers in the world. With many other announcements, Disney has confirmed that Ford will slip back into the role of the much-loved "Indy". The next "Indiana Jones" film, which is now the fifth in the series, should appear in July 2022. Around 40 years after the first part "Hunter of the Lost Treasure" from 1981.
Pre-production in progress
The production company Lucasfilm, which belongs to Disney, is currently in pre-production for "Indiana Jones 5". An exact title for the film has not yet been announced. As already known, James Mangold (56) will direct, replacing his colleague Steven Spielberg (73), who was previously responsible for the series.
Producer Frank Marshall (74) had already told the US portal "Collider" in May that Mangold was the perfect choice. First and foremost, "his love for the franchise," says Marshall. Mangold is "a wonderful filmmaker. I think he has a relationship with Harrison too." Spielberg should at least stay on board as a co-producer, it was said at the time.
