Dust off your Fedoras: Indiana Jones is back! The archaeologist is preparing to slam his lasso again at the cinema in 2023 for a fifth (and last?) adventure, still embodied by the legendary Harrison Ford. While the first trailer for the film should not be long, the first shots have just been unveiled by the magazine Empire.

Still on the right track, the UK review got the first official preview of the film Indiana Jones 5 — as yet untitled — directed by James Mangold (Logan, Le Mans 66). In addition to Harrison Ford (80), we see the characters played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (flea bag), Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal) and Boyd Holbrook (Logan).
These images also confirm that the plot will take place in 1969, with a sequence taking place during the New York parade dedicated to the Apollo 11 team, returned from its lunar stay. The interview ofEmpire also reveals that the film will begin with a sequence in the middle of World War II, with Harrison Ford rejuvenated thanks to special effects.
If the plot of the film is still shrouded in mystery, we know that the famous adventurer will team up with Helena (Phoebe Waller-Bridge), goddaughter of Indiana Jones, who will have a leading role in the story. Steven Spielberg, director of the first four films, leaves the controls of this 5th opus to the talented James Mangold, but remains in production with the historical Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall. Composer John Williams (Star Wars, Harry Potter) also returns to sign the music ofIndiana Jones 5which will be the last film of his career.
The first trailer forIndiana Jones 5 should be released in the next few days, either at Brazilian Comic-Con next week or whenAvatar: The Waterway. The film is announced in French theaters on June 28, 2023.

All of the films can be seen on the Amazon Prime Video streaming platform. If the four opuses (The Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Last Crusade, The cursed temple and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull) are still available on Amazon’s service, they should eventually migrate to Disney+, which owns all Lucasfilm programs.
