Indictment for storming the Capitol: Trump: “Reminiscent of Nazi Germany in the 1930s”

Charged with storming the Capitol
Trump: “Reminiscent of Nazi Germany in the 1930s”

A president who is part of a conspiracy, acts against his own state and against the lawful process of a change of power – that is the accusation of the US judiciary against Donald Trump. In an unprecedented indictment that dwarfs all previous allegations, the billionaire faces four counts. All relate to an attempt to overturn the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.

But Trump doesn’t want to know anything about these allegations, on the contrary. He accuses the Justice Department of wanting to intervene in the upcoming election on behalf of President Joe Biden and is reminded of the darkest chapters in recent history. Trump and his campaign team leave that in their minds statements no doubt, here in the wording:

The answer is election interference!”

“This is nothing more than the next corrupt chapter in the ongoing pathetic attempt by the crime-ridden Biden family and their armed Justice Department to meddle in the 2024 presidential election, in which President Trump is the undisputed front-runner and leads by a wide margin.

But why did they wait two and a half years to make these bogus allegations in the midst of President Trump’s successful 2024 campaign? Why were they announced by impostor Joe Biden the day after the great congressional scandal erupted?

The answer is election interference! The lawlessness with which President Trump and his supporters are being persecuted is reminiscent of Nazi Germany in the 1930s, the former Soviet Union and other authoritarian, dictatorial regimes. President Trump has consistently upheld the law and the Constitution, taking the advice of many highly qualified attorneys.

These un-American witch hunts will fail and President Trump will return to the White House so he can save our country from the abuse, incompetence and corruption that runs through our country’s veins on an unprecedented scale.

Three years ago we had safe borders, energy independence, no inflation and a great economy. Today we are a nation in decline. President Trump will not be deterred by shameful and unprecedented political attacks!”

45-page indictment

The charges relate to the events of January 6, 2021 and a campaign apparently choreographed by Trump over weeks and months to portray the 2020 presidential election as a fraud in order to reverse the outcome. The 45-page indictment lists how Trump fought his defeat in all possible ways and, together with six other people, tried to put pressure on the Justice Department and other politicians at the federal and state levels responsible, including his then vice president Mike Pence.

Trump supporters stormed the seat of Congress on January 6, 2021 to prevent incumbent Joe Biden from winning the election. They attacked the police, MPs fled in fear of death. Five people died during or shortly after the incident and around 140 officers were injured. More than 1,000 people have now been charged in connection with the storming.

As usual, there is no evidence for the allegations that Trump makes in his statement. The charges were decided by a grand jury. They had previously heard testimony from investigators and witnesses including former Presidential Attorney Pat Cipollone and Trump Vice President Mike Pence.
