Infants discovered dead in a cellar: what are the leads of the investigators?

It is a tragic scene that the firefighters discovered on Tuesday, May 3. Three dead babies, placed in buckets were found in a cellar.

It is a macabre discovery that was made this Tuesday, May 3 in a pavilion in Ville-d’Avray, in the Hauts-de-Seine. Three bodies of infants were found dead in a basement by firefighters. Around 3 p.m., the emergency services intervened to take care of an individual in a state of shock. The latter, who was to empty the accommodation of a deceased person, fell on the bodies of three babies, in three buckets. According to information from BFM TV, one of them would have been put in a liquid resembling formaldehyde, while the other two would have been found desiccated.

Still according to our colleagues, the former owner of this pavilion was a gynecologist, who died in 2015, at the age of 74. An investigation was therefore opened by the Nanterre public prosecutor’s office and entrusted to the Hauts-de-Seine judicial police. The objective is to determine the causes of death of these three infants. A representative of the prosecution also went on site to see this macabre discovery. An autopsy will be performed on the bodies of the three babies to date the day of their death. The medical examiner will also have to determine if the three infants were born dead or if they lived.

A discovery confirmed by the Public Prosecutor of Nanterre

According to information from France Info, the person who discovered the babies had herself lost a child in 1993. Auscultated by the firefighters, she was not transported to hospital but was in a state of significant shock. The investigation will therefore continue. If for the moment the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Nanterre has not given more information, it has however indeed confirmed the discovery of these three infants.
