FC Bayern tightened corona rules
After several corona infections in the club and with the Omikron variant on the advance, FC Bayern is taking action: The test and hygiene measures are being intensified, more attention should be paid to distance, masks and contact reduction. Everyone in the team has now been vaccinated or has recovered.
FC Bayern is intensifying its test and hygiene measures due to the corona pandemic. As the Munich-based company announced, this concerns, for example, “observing distance rules, wearing masks or reducing contact in the vicinity of training units and games”. In addition, “booster vaccinations in particular were carried out during the winter break as a central measure to protect against corona infections or the severe course of a corona infection”.
Before the start of the second half of the season, the Omikron variant, which is considered very contagious, occupies the entire Bundesliga. “In close coordination with the Munich health department” with the start of training, “it will again be tested much more closely and all hygiene measures will be intensified,” wrote FC Bayern.
Team doctor and Bayern cardiologist Roland Schmidt said: “All players, coaches and staff members for whom this was already possible received the booster vaccination. The rest of them have recovered status or are vaccinated.” The Munich team start their preparation for the second half of the season on Sunday. After the short winter break, the German football record champions will be relaunching the Bundesliga against Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Allianz Arena on January 7th (8.30 p.m. / Sat.1 and DAZN).
“With the hygiene concept adapted to the current situation and the expanded test strategy, we want to reduce the risk of a corona infection as much as possible. We will also ensure a reduction in close contact situations away from the football field,” explained Schmidt.
There had been a lot of excitement about unvaccinated stars in Munich in recent weeks. The focus was on the unvaccinated national player Joshua Kimmich, who had to pause for a few weeks after his corona infection. In the months before, a number of other professionals and coach Julian Nagelsmann had tested positive at Bayern.
