Infineon: will convert a US factory to green energy

(CercleFinance.com) – Infineon has switched the operation of its semiconductor factory in Austin, Texas to 100% renewable energy.

This is an important milestone in the company’s goal to use green power for all of its U.S. sites by the end of calendar year 2022.

Infineon will use Austin Energy certified renewable energy from local wind farms in Texas. In 2021, the company switched all of its electricity consumption to green energy in Europe.

“By the end of the year, 100% of our US production energy consumption will come from renewable energy. As a market leader in power semiconductors, Infineon makes a significant contribution to energy efficiency throughout the energy chain. ‘ said Steve James, vice president of fab operations, Infineon Americas.
