Infinissima Touch, the new Dolce Gusto coffee maker is timidly reinventing itself

The 2022 version of the Dolce Gusto coffee maker, the Infinissima Touch, changes very little compared to the first Infinissima. This new version gains an automatic mode which allows it to automatically adjust the quantity of water according to the capsule.

Three years after the release of the first Infinissima coffee maker, Dolce Gusto is refilling its iconic coffee maker to improve it. It must be said that the first version was somewhat rudimentary: the absence of automatic mode penalized the preparation of recipes. The shooting is now corrected on this version which now automatically stops the preparation of a coffee. The user must rely on the water level recommendations indicated on the capsule and transfer this indication to the machine. This process allows coffee to be consumed in “the best conditions” thanks to an optimized water dosage for the Dolce Gusto capsule. In all, 8 cup lengths are available, including the XL format, accessible via a touch interface.

In addition to the design of the sign of infinity already inaugurated by the first Infinissima, we find on this new version all the codes of Dolce Gusto, namely a slider to prepare a hot or cold drink – understand, at room temperature -, a pressure of 15 bar, a 1.2 l water tank and an energy saving mode.

If the performance is similar to that of the previous generation of the Infinissima, we can expect this Touch version to be fast, quiet, easy to maintain and now even easier to use. However, one of the major flaws of Dolce Gusto coffee makers has long been the dripping phenomenon that occurs after extraction. To limit the overflow of the drip tray, it is best to remove the capsule immediately after preparing a coffee. Here, and unlike the Genio S Touch model, there is no capsule holder that can stop this phenomenon.

The Dolce Gusto Infinissima is available in two colors (black and taupe) and sold for €129.
