3, 2, 1… in this spring of 2022, CANAL+ is taking to the skies with its brand new Original Creation. Its name: Infiniti, its launch date: April 4. Acting as a UFO in the French television landscape, this series deploys a high-flying plot, between science fiction thriller and space thriller.
An extraordinary adventure that takes us inside the Russian Soyuz spacecraft. On a mission, he encounters a docking problem with the ISS (the International Space Station) leading to the loss of the latter, which no longer responds.
INFINITI: A PARADOXAL SPACE JOURNEY
At the same time in Kazakhstan: a corpse covered in wax is found. It is the American astronaut Anthony Kurz who is however currently on a mission in the ISS… Removed from the space program, the astronaut Anna Zarathi will try to solve this oh so enigmatic paradox with the help of Isaak Turgun, a Kazakh cop disavowed by his superiors.
Spectacular and ambitious, this series created by Stéphane Pannetier and Julien Vanlerenberghe, and directed by Thierry Poiraud, succeeds in transporting us into space, without forgetting to immerse us in the famous Baikonur cosmodrome. It is also in Kazakhstan, where the famous historic Russian launch base is located, that a large part of Infiniti was filmed.
AN AMBITIOUS SERIES WITH A STAR CAST
At a time when the exploits of Thomas Pesquet fascinated France and the whole world, and above all offered a vision of the international space scene, Infiniti offers this unique feeling of getting involved behind the scenes. All this while transposing quantum physical phenomena, painting unique portraits of life, and not forgetting to address the political issues inherent in the conquest of space.
To shine the spotlight on its fascinating and mysterious story, the series is counting on an international cast that lives up to the project, with Céline Sallette in the skin of the heroine Anna and the Kazakh actor Daniyar Alshinov, revealed in the thriller Franco-Kazakh A Dark, Dark Man in the guise of Isaak.
We also find, among others, the Kazakh actress Samal Yeslyamova, Best Actress Award at Cannes in 2018 for Ayka and the Belgian Laurent Capelluto. A 5 star cast!
