Inflation and Porsche’s IPO: spotlight on Germany this Thursday


The program will be very German this Thursday, with September inflation figures and the first quotations from Porsche. Other statistics are expected in the euro zone and the United States.

While consumer confidence in Germany came out worse than expected in October, we will know on Thursday if their pessimistic expectations are linked to inflation that is also higher than expected. The figures will be released in the early afternoon, expected by the Bloomberg consensus, for the harmonized and preliminary data for September, up sharply by 10.2% over one year.

Still in the euro zone and in terms of confidence, that of the inhabitants of the monetary union will be published at the end of the morning, still for the month of September, anticipated at -28.8 points. In the process and for the same period, we will know more about the confidence index in industry and services, for which the Bloomberg consensus is counting on respective results of -0.7 and 7 points (against 1.2 and 8.7 in August).

Porsche enters the Frankfurt Stock Exchange

To complete the statistical program of the day, heading for the United States where we will know more about the applications for unemployment benefits for the past week (anticipated at 215,000) and on a new estimate of the evolution of GDP in second trimester.

As for the other events of the session, we will of course focus on the IPO of Porsche on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, by its parent company Volkswagen. We will note in France the start of the Patrimonia trade fair, which will be held in Lyon until September 30 and which will allow professionals in the sector to meet.
