Inflection 2.5 + Pi: a new strong competitor in the AI arena to test for free

In May 2023, the company Inflection based in Palo Alto, California, put its personal assistant Pi online. It stood out from other conversational agents by its empathy and the security of its responses. With version 2 of the LLM (Large Language Model) launched in November 2023, Inflection was among the best models of the moment. On March 7, 2024, version 2.5 was made available and you can already try it.

A less greedy AI?

Inflection has provided some details on the training of its new model and claims that it approaches the performance of a ChatGPT 4 while using only 40% of the training calculation time of OpenAI’s personal assistant. A great success therefore, which allows us to glimpse AI that consumes less energy and therefore with a reduced carbon footprint, even if this still remains very vague. Inflection also emphasizes that the new model has made progress in the area of mathematics and coding. In addition, Pi can now access the Internet and therefore use recent information to answer questions more relevantly.
