Macabre discovery in the family garden of a house located in Pantin, in Seine-Saint-Denis. The bones of a young boy who disappeared in 2004 were found buried this Wednesday. The child’s parents, interviewed as part of a rogatory hearing, were arrested and placed in police custody.

This is an unexpected twist for investigators from Pantin, in Seine-Saint-Denis. According to information from Europe 1, the bones of a five-year-old boy who disappeared in 2004 were found buried in the family garden of his parents’ house this Wednesday.

Procedure relaunched after domestic violence

This discovery came after the filing of a complaint from a woman, the mother of the missing child, filed in January 2021. Faced with investigators, she declared that she regularly suffered domestic violence from her husband, adding that the latter had killed their little boy Virgile in 2004.

The police, who initially believed it was revenge on the part of the woman, still went to the scene. Excavations which, at first, yielded nothing. But as the investigations continued, questioned by investigators, the father of the missing child finally confessed to having helped his wife bury his son. He explained that the latter had discovered the child, dead in the garden. A secret kept buried for more than 20 years. The couple was arrested and taken into custody.
