INFO EUROPE 1 – Elisabeth Borne will receive the unions on May 17

The representatives of the eight main trade unions will be received at the Hôtel de Matignon on Wednesday 17 May. The format chosen by Matignon, and accepted by the unions, is that of bilateral meetings. Union officials will be received in turn by Elisabeth Borne.

The invitation is finally sent. Late Friday afternoon, Matignon sent an official letter to officials of the inter-union. In a letter, consulted by Europe 1, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne “invites union leaders to an interview” on Wednesday May 17.

The format chosen by Matignon, and accepted by the unions, is that of bilateral meetings. Union officials will be received in turn by Elisabeth Borne. François Hommeril, president of the CFE-CGC, will meet with the head of government at 10:45 a.m. Then Cyril Chabanier, the boss of the CTFC, will succeed him at noon. Sophie Binet (CGT), Laurent Berger (CFDT), Frédéric Souillot (FO) and the other union leaders will also meet with the Prime Minister during the day.

According to Elisabeth Borne’s entourage, the agenda for discussions is open. The theme of pension reform can therefore be addressed.
