Gérald Darmanin will go to the Vatican this Thursday, January 5 to represent France at the funeral of Pope Benoit XVI, who died on Saturday December 31 at the age of 95, according to information from Europe 1. Sarkozy and Holland absent

Still according to information from Europe 1, the former heads of state Nicolas Sarkozy (2007-2012) and François Hollande (2012-2017) will not go to the funeral of the ex-pope this Thursday. Benoit XVI, whose real name is Joseph Ratzinger, was elected pope on April 19, 2005, before renouncing his functions on February 28, 2013.
