But none of the individuals present have their cell phone or identification with them. Impossible for the police to control them. Above all, the activists refuse to disband. The police cannot arrest them. After four hours of negotiations, the activists can leave, without even having been subject to a single check.

Dilution of responsibilities

It did not take two months after the Council of State canceled the dissolution of the radical environmentalist movement Earth Uprisings for it to take action again. By taking great care, with the greatest discretion, to circumvent and obstruct the action of the police. In a recent note that Europe 1 was able to consult, territorial intelligence deciphers the collective’s new strategy which consists, “in a logic of dilution of responsibilities”, in keeping away from the field “the majority of executives involved in planning and the development of local actions.

Rather than grouping activists together in one place like Sainte-Soline, executives today prefer diluted action throughout the territory. Discreetly, a series of coordinated sabotage actions on the Lafarge cement manufacturer was carried out clandestinely from December 9 to 12. An event which, according to information from Europe 1, brought together nearly 2,400 people on around thirty targeted sites throughout France. This “demonstrates a real capacity for coordination and preparation,” insists an informed source. Above all, French intelligence observed that this new organization of the “Earth Uprisings” reinforced its own security measures in order to thwart surveillance operations.

Feeling of insecurity among cement workers

The operating mode is now well established: lightning action, white suits to anonymize activists, saturation of police or gendarmerie systems… Their new territorial network allows the Earth Uprisings to have a “strike force, difficult to detect ” and posing “a threat” to the establishments of the Lafarge company, according to this document.

So much so that a “significant feeling of insecurity” has developed in construction and cement companies. A strategy which should continue “in the months to come” and which should extend to all companies suspected by radical environmentalists of participating “in the destruction of life”.
