As the contours of a reshuffle are becoming clearer, Emmanuel Macron confirmed Elisabeth Borne as Prime Minister this evening. He entrusted him with the task of making “adjustments” within his government. Profiles have already been submitted to the High Authority for the transparency of public life.
This is a new sign that confirms the track of an imminent redesign. According to information from Europe 1, the High Authority for the Transparency of Public Life, responsible for controlling the tax and asset declarations of public officials, has already studied the names of several profiles likely to be appointed ministers.
Emmanuel Macron also confirmed this Monday evening Elisabeth Borne as Prime Minister. An extension “for the sake of” stability “and in order to continue the” substantive work “undertaken since his re-election, says the Elysée. The announcement, revealed in the press in Le Figaro illustrates, according to a government adviser, the lack of enthusiasm of the Head of State to keep the current tenant of Matignon. The president notably had the possibility of letting Elisabeth Borne resign and then renaming her in stride. The gesture, more political, would then have been seen as more support.
A speech this week
Emmanuel Macron will also speak this week. A speech at the end of the milestone of “100 days” that he had set last April. “The President of the Republic intends to prepare for the start of the school year by recalling the clear course which is his and by rallying strongly after this period” confirms the Elysée.
In off, an adviser however affirms that the Head of State regrets having fixed this appointment, considering that the French are already in the mood for the holidays. His speech should take place between Wednesday and Sunday, before a major one-week tour in Oceania.
