250 million euros. This figure which corresponds to the value of the assets of Danone Russia. Until 2022, the company’s activities on site generated one billion euros in revenue, or 6% of its turnover. With the war, the activity of the group was therefore divided by four, confides a source familiar with the matter to Europe 1.

In detail, Danone in Russia has 13 factories. 12 production sites for dairy and vegetable products and one for baby food. No less than 7,200 people are affected by this takeover of the Kremlin, mostly executives and engineers.

The group was preparing to leave Russia

At the start of the war in Ukraine, Danone first decided to continue producing on Russian soil, but without any profit objective or investment plan. In recent months, the group has been preparing for its departure. Discussions were underway with potential local buyers. The company is now studying possible measures to challenge the decree issued by Moscow and assures that the situation will not have an impact on its financial objectives.
