Infogrames: the French armadillo is back, thanks Atari?

Today, the name ofInfograms is best known for being a running gag in the show Attic Playerbut in the 80s and 90s, the French publisher was essential. Founded by Christophe Sapet and Bruno Bonnell, the studio has published a bunch of licensed games and bought out numerous developers, a sort ofEmbracer Group from the old times.

The name ofInfograms disappeared in 2009, renamed Atari SA to better appeal to the North American market, a studio that has been making waves again in recent years with a console and especially games. But nowAtari announcement the return ofInfogramswhich will be a publishing label. Chairman and CEO Wade Rosen says:

For decades, Infogrames has built a reputation as a publisher and developer of amazing and eclectic games, and we’re excited to bring it back.

So the armadillo comes back from the dead, without the rainbow colors this time, it remains to be seen what Infogrames will offer in the future. No doubt licensed games, hoping that the quality is there! If you are interested in retrogaming, you can find the Atari 2600+ from €119.99 on Amazon And Cdiscount.
