Syrian couple separated because woman was a minor
Støjberg was the Danish Minister for Foreign Affairs and Integration from 2015 to 2019. She is accused of having illegally ordered an asylum-seeking couple from Syria to be separated because the woman was a minor.

Støjberg left the room immediately after Tuesday’s vote, waving. She had sat in parliament for 20 years, first for her former Venstre party, then as a non-party. She can run again in the next Danish parliamentary election, which is expected to take place in 2023.
